Anastasia Trusova, a Belgian artist, creates beautiful works that highlight the beauty of the European countryside. To create lavish depictions of flowery hills, dense forests, and peaceful rivers, she combines decadent texture with bold color palettes.
Trusova used to be a shoe designer in China, but when she moved to Belgium and needed a new creative outlet, she took up painting. She created her own distinct style based on prismatic colours and heavy impasto via trial and error. “Texture is an important aspect of the picture for me.” Trusova explains, “I utilize it to express volume and space, as well as add spice to the painting.” “Also, because acrylic does not yellow in direct sunshine, I can experiment with lighting and shadows [on the painting].”
The deep rivets in the dried paint give the canvas a feeling of movement. The visitor may notice intriguing grooves and patterns on every square inch of Trusova’s compositions, which add to the impression of completeness in her works. “I want the painting to seem intriguing in any light,” she explains, “so I paint small lines of detail over the textures, such as a decorative pattern or grass lines.” As a result, these breathtaking recreations feel like doorways to fantastic dreamscapes.
