Wild animals usually avoid human presence, but in this particularly situation a cougar looked for people to help him out and that saved its life! The starving animal was on the brink of death, but fortunately her instincts lead her to a wildlife rehabilitation center.
A couple of weeks ago volunteers at the Center Valley Animal Rescue in Quilcene, Texas left baffled to see a wild cougar wondering onto their property. But only when they got closer they realized the wild cat was actually in very deep troubles. She was starving as they things looked up, only a miracle would have saved her.
Sara Penhallegon, the rehab center’s director, stated, “She checked herself into rehabilitation, which is a first for us.” “We all felt she was going to die because of her condition.”
However, the animal was fortunate enough to come across those kind, dedicated individuals. The almost one-year-old cougar was in critical condition, but Sara and her colleagues were able to save her. The gorgeous kitten is on the mend now, weeks after her life was cut short by a tread.
Sara explained, “And so it was this wonderful den.” “I believe it went in there to die… As a result, we just happened to come upon it at the right time and began the repair procedure.”
The cougar’s rehabilitation will continue since she is too young to be put back into the wild. The animal was most likely orphaned when her mother died, leaving her extremely vulnerable. Sara explained, “She hadn’t learnt to hunt yet.” “She had no method of taking care of herself…but happily, she was able to check herself into a rehabilitation center.”
