“Driving is far more exciting with her in there.”
Even though Christopher Taylor looks to be alone when out and about in Australia these days, he is never truly alone in his automobile.
Taylor has been sharing his car with an unexpected copilot for the past year or so: this giant huntsman spider, which Taylor refers to as Steve.
Taylor told LADBible, “She just appeared on the dashboard one day around a year ago as I stopped at the light.” Because Huntsman spiders aren’t harmful to humans, he decided to let her remain.
Steve loves to keep hidden beneath Taylor’s sun visor most of the time. Despite the fact that an automobile may not appear to be the most spider-friendly habitat, Steve appears to have thrived there.
Taylor claims that throughout their many months together, Steve has grown in size by a factor of two.
While Taylor has become accustomed to Steve’s unobtrusive presence in his automobile over the last year, she continues to make an impact on people who have yet to meet her.
“My passengers are frequently scared or cry when I have them in my car,” Taylor added. “Steve does an excellent job of keeping me awake while driving.”
Of course, there will come a moment when Steve decides to return to the outdoors — or even upgrade to a newer model automobile — but for now, Taylor is enjoying the journey alongside him.
“Driving with her in the car is a lot more fun,” he remarked.
