Her Family Put Up An Intro Sign Because Her Dog Loves Greeting Neighbors So Much

by Stephen King

“People have been waiting 6 feet apart in a line on really nice days.”

Potato is a highly social dog, and one of her favorite things to do is say hello to everyone in her neighborhood on a daily basis.

Potato’s father, Cee (who requested that their last name not be used), told The Dodo, “Her personality is like a door greeter at a grocery store.”

Potato has spent every day since she was 6 months old outside in the front yard, waiting for people to come by and pet her. It was her favorite pastime — until the pandemic struck, and many became concerned that Potato’s family would no longer allow anyone to pet her.

Potato’s parents decided to construct a sign to let everyone in the area know that it was fine to continue showering her with love and attention.

“We wanted to convince folks that petting her was fine,” Cee explained. “She was also becoming depressed as a result of the abrupt lack of attention. She began barking at individuals she knew who had stopped petting her. And we decided it’d be a fun way to stay connected to our neighbors while also making them feel less lonely during this strange period.”

Potato’s parents worked hard to create the ideal introduction sign for her, something cute and pleasant that reflected her personality. They hung it on the fence outside their house, and people were even more enamored of Potato than they had been before.

Since the outbreak, it appears that many more individuals are out walking in their neighborhoods, attempting to find ways to stay outside. Potato’s sign is a very cute sight to witness, and it has undoubtedly provided a lot of joy to many people.

Sean Carr, one of Potato’s neighbors, told The Dodo, “I first met Potato strolling with my girlfriend in our area.” “My photography business was effectively shut down due to COVID, and she was working from home.” We’d go on a walk and look at the houses, as well as the flowers and plants. We came across the sign and the adorable little Potato one day. Since then, we’ve probably gone by at least once a week to see if Potato is still there.”

Sweet Potato has gotten a lot more attention as a result of the sign, and she couldn’t be happier. Every day, she enjoys greeting her followers, and her family is overjoyed that she is so content.

“On extremely good days, people have been waiting 6 feet apart in a queue,” Cee remarked. “Those spacer circles for the ground on the sidewalk are something we’re thinking about buying.” People call her name in the yard from time to time while she is inside, and she nervously rings her doorbell to get out so she doesn’t miss them. She’s out there all day, from 10 a.m. to sunset, if it’s not raining and we’re at home.”

Because of the pandemic, many people are staying at home more, and Potato enjoys spending time with her family — but she also has a responsibility to her fans, which she will never disregard.

“She would rather be among her admirers than with her family,” Cee explained.
