As an animal enthusiast, I can’t imagine a more fulfilling career than that of a wildlife photographer. They are constantly given the opportunity to have one-of-a-kind, once-in-a-lifetime interactions with Mother Nature and her magnificent creatures!
Gren Sowerby is one of the fortunate ones. The 69-year-old wildlife photographer from the United Kingdom has spent the last four decades of his life to his hobby. Gren confesses he landed the right work, and every second he spends with the wild animals is a joy. However, he had the “shock of his life” last month in Kenya’s Maasai Mara.
The seasoned photographer was on a safari when he came saw a gorgeous lion around 40-50 feet away. Naturally, he prepared for some stunning images with the jungle’s monarch. Only the monarch chose to play a game with Gren.
Sowerby told the South West News Service, “I lent in to snap a shot when he let out a big scream – I got the fright of my life.” “He yelled, ‘I’m the King of the Jungle,’ and then he smiled at me like someone winks at you to say, ‘Haha!'”
With a loud, frightening roar, the colossal lion frightened the photographer, then began to smile at him. Of course, no matter how terrifying it was, Gren stayed and photographed the incredible spectacle!

However, this isn’t the first time a fierce lion has shown his humorous side. A video of a lion waking up a lioness in a wonderfully entertaining way went popular on social media earlier this year. Take a look!
