It was a golden sunset at Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville, Florida, when Dan Mozer decided to photograph his wife Angeline, who was heavily pregnant with their first child.

Dan later revealed that the dolphin actually jumped twice — but it was that first leap, caught perfectly against the sunset, that became a masterpiece.
“It’s funny how we forget how magical dolphins really are until they surprise us,” he said. “Now I’m choosing between dolphin jumps like it’s no big deal!”
