A new viral video captured the uncomfortable aggression of a middle-aged woman verbally attacking the clothing choices of a group of teenage girls outside a convenience store in Chicago, Illinois.

The video, originally posted to Instagram, appeared to begin in the middle of the altercation after the woman lobbed criticism from her car as the group of girls walked toward the store.

Watch the clip below.

The teen began filming after the woman apparently told one of the girls that her clothes indicated she was “from the streets.” The video began as the woman doubled down on her attacks.

As she left her car and walked into the store, the woman said:

“You just keep laughing, ‘cause I’m not laughing, I feel sorry for you.”

“I think you should dress appropriately, those are bras.”

When one of the girls claimed they looked better than she did, she responded:

“Excuse me? I’m f***ing 40. I am being like your mom telling you that you should be…”

One of the teens said the woman was not her mom and had no right to attack her, but she just kept going:

“I’m gonna act like one ‘cause you girls need it. You don’t walk around town in a bra.”

After she flat-out called the girls “slutty,” she managed to bring her own family into the mix:

“I have three little girls growing up looking at you.”

Eventually, an employee became involved, as the video showed. He first shouted “Leave!” at the woman and then, an indeterminate amount of time later, argued with her until she left the store.

Thankfully, the situation did not escalate beyond those choice words back and forth.

On Instagram, however, the outrage was flying.

Others took aim at the woman’s all too casual approach to mask-wearing throughout the tirade.

And folks who came across the video on Reddit had some choice words as well.

“People here calling the kids ‘trashy’ and ‘just as bad as the woman.’ They’re kids, wearing clothes. Looks like crop tops and shorts. I’d be annoyed and snappy too if some rando came and started trying to dictate what I wear just because it bugs her personal idea of ‘what’s acceptable.’”

“I’m more judgmental of the adult woman who felt the need to try shaming some teens she doesn’t even know for doing nothing wrong.” — Kaos99

“As a girl who wears nothing but crop tops and short shorts this video resonates with me.” — FrickleFrackle1978

“Millennial women need to get the f*** over gen Z wearing crop tops. Yeah, it was taboo when we were kids but it, you know, isn’t anymore. Be chill.” — vanishplusxzone

We can only hope the woman in this video takes her own advice and sets a good example by not yelling at strangers in public.
