Sometimes, barrel racing is the most exciting event of the night at rodeos, even more so than bull riding!
At this December 2019 event, all anyone could talk about was this particular run from a young girl who has a bright future in the sport. Thankfully, a man named Brent Puhl caught it on camera and shared it on Facebook.
“500 in the open tonight and this was by far the best run of the night. Enjoy everyone,” Brent Puhl captioned the video.
A young barrel racer named Addison, who looks about five years old, took off on a pony with some help from her father. Addison’s dad ran alongside her through the entire run and looked absolutely winded by the end. The only thing that compared to watching Addison ride, was the commentary given during!
Addison was so impressive during this ride that PBR took notice, posting the video to their official Facebook page, where they said, “This is the cutest thing you’re going to see all day.”
If that video didn’t put a smile on your face, this next one will.
On June 20, 2020, Puhl posted another video of Addison competing in barrel racing, but this time she did the run all by herself.
“Well last year I got to post the video of her dad running the pattern with her. And this year all by herself. Best part of this job is getting to capture things like this, great job young lady,” he wrote.
Addison and her pony rounded each barrel slowly and with precision before taking off on the last straightaway, which is when the crowd erupted in cheer for the young girl. Dad was waiting with a big smile on his face.
