The way she tries to catch it 😍
This fluffy foster kitten is only six weeks old and is just starting to find out what the world is all about.
And, while the process can be difficult at times, she’s already discovering that there are many bright spots along the route.
The cat was exploring the house she lives with her foster mother, Yige, the other day when she saw something strange. A weird light rectangle had stretched across the carpet and floor, a bizarre apparition the curious kitty was sure hadn’t been there before.
Despite this, she boldly approached the strange location, sniffing it before attempting in vain to grab it with her little paws.
This, it turns out, was the kitten’s first glimpse of the sun:
She was unable to grasp the sunbeam in the end, but the warmth it provided on her fur may have convinced her that it was a great spot for a snooze.
(She’s figured them all out.)
One of the basic pleasures of being a foster parent to needy young cats is watching kittens discover the world – and one foster mom couldn’t suggest it more:
“Do yourself a favor,” Yige added, “and foster some cats.” “They’ll give you a daily dosage of serotonin that you can count on.”
