Rose Kemp, a young woman from Nassau, Bahamas, was hit by a little fluffy animal that dropped from a tree onto her head last year.
The raccoon, who turned out to be a youngster, was only a month old at the time and had fractured one of her hind legs in the fall. Rose realized the baby would never be reunited with its mother and chose to adopt her. Pumpkin was her given name.
This is such a wonderful tale!
‘Taking care of Pumpkin is a 24-hour job,’ Rose explains.
Pumpkin now lives with Rose and her two dogs in her home. She appears to be in a good mood.
‘She’s grown rather connected to us. She follows me around with the dogs wherever I go.’
‘She’s started to believe she’s a dog.’ She might be tough with them at times, but she respects them.’
