Workers in Poland Rescue Dog Trapped in Tar

A couple a years ago, workers in the Polish city of Suwałki made a shocking discovery — one that would soon capture the hearts of thousands. A small dog had gotten stuck in thick tar and was barking desperately for help.

According to The Dodo, the poor dog’s plight sparked an outpouring of support from animal lovers across social media.

The workers, hearing the dog’s frantic barking from a distance, followed the sound and were horrified to find the dog trapped in the tar, unable to free itself.

The sight was enough to make anyone’s stomach turn. How had the dog ended up there? How long had it been stuck?

The workers immediately called the animal rescue organization Fundacja Zwierzeta Niczyje, where Joanna Godlewska works. When she arrived on the scene, her eyes filled with tears.

It was an emotional moment for Joanna, who has dedicated her life to helping animals. She, like many in her field, has seen some terrible things, but this dog’s situation was heartbreaking.

The rescue mission began right away, with both the police and fire department joining in to formulate a plan to free the dog from its sticky prison.

With scissors in hand, Joanna started cutting the tar away, working tirelessly to release the dog.

The tar had been illegally dumped in the wilderness, which is both dangerous and against the law. The Dodo reports that the dog may have been a stray, and in its search for warmth, it likely laid down in the tar—only to realize it couldn’t get up again.

How long the dog had been trapped is unknown, but thankfully, help arrived just in time.

Joanna and the team worked carefully to help the dog understand that they were there to save him. Slowly, they managed to free him from the tar, as seen in pictures shared on the animal rescue’s Facebook page.

After the dog was freed, they rushed him to a veterinarian for a thorough check-up. He needed to be cleaned and examined for injuries or illnesses caused by his traumatic experience.

Now look at how happy he looks once the tar is finally removed!

The vet confirmed that the dog, now named Farcik, was in surprisingly good spirits. He had a small injury near his eye, but otherwise, he was doing well.

Joanna has shared that she plans to adopt Farcik, the dog she helped rescue. He will continue his veterinary visits and take more baths until he’s fully recovered.

This heartwarming story reminds us all of the amazing work done by animal heroes who make a difference in the lives of our furry friends!

Please share this story to celebrate the incredible rescue efforts of these animal heroes!
