“[He] is forever awesome for this” 👏👏
A baseball team is typically made up of nine players on the field.
However, this squad had ten members the other day.
During the ninth inning of a recent Washington Nationals game, someone who wasn’t on the team decided to join in the fun.
It was a colossal praying mantis.
She had obviously forgotten to pack her baseball cap, so she borrowed one from another player. While he was still dressed in it.
Victor Robles was the player in question, and he didn’t seem to mind:
Though it wasn’t apparent whether or not Robles knew about the small green tagalong atop his cap while he was in the dugout, once he went to the field, he made sure the mantis understood the drill.
Robles gestured to his teammates at one point, including the bug on his hat.
Nobody knows where the mantis came from or where she went after the game. But, because to Robles’ willingness to let her hang on his head, she was a part of the squad, if only for a little while.
