The strongest force on Earth is the bond between a mother and her offspring. Animal mothers, like human mothers, are connected and dedicated to their offspring. A mother will always be a mother, regardless of the species. And this koala mother-baby pair is proof of it!

A mother koala was critically hurt during an accident. But, happily, she and her baby were saved just in time by a bunch of rescuers. Lizzie and her young joey, Phantom were taken to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital.

While the baby koala was unhurt, his mother was in severe condition as a result of her injuries. As a result, she needed surgery to save her life.

The thing that broke my heart the most was when the 6-month-old joey stayed at his mother’s side during the procedure. The vet concluded that keeping them together and providing comfort would be preferable, since dividing them may easily traumatize them and make them uneasy.

Koalas are a social animal native to Australia. The only connection that exists is between infants and their mothers. And their friendship is tremendous, as shown in the video! Watch the heartwarming interaction in the video below!
