The term “flower beds” takes on new meaning as little harvest mice nestle up among these tulips.
The colorful blooms, despite their fragility, have enough strength to support their little visitors as they scamper up the stalks and curl up amid the petals.
Pollen-covered mice are shown sleeping with only their noses and tails peeping out from the blooms in a series of adorable photos.
Miles Herbert, a 52-year-old photographer from Ringwood, Hampshire, discovered the harvest mice.
“The mice adore the pollen fragrance and crawl into the blossoms to consume the stamens, frequently falling asleep within the flower,” Miles explained.
“It was a lot of fun shooting the photos, and I was extremely delighted with how they turned out when I reviewed them.”
“My personal favorite is the mouse poised on the red flower.”
