Nothing beats a dog’s compassionate spirit when it comes to caring for people in need. These adorable animals appear to have been created with the intent of bringing comfort to others. An wounded deer was recently nursed back to health by a selfless dog who sat next to her and comforted her until aid arrived.
Pat Pollifrone, a Nashville-based artist, shared the now-famous story online, and it quickly went viral. His pet puppy, Zoey, was the one who melted people’s hearts with his generosity. Pat’s ranch in Cheatham County, Tennessee, apparently lost an ailing deer, but he went in to save the helpless critter.
On Instagram, the artist said, “Found this little sweetie yesterday in the yard and put her back in the woods.” “When I got out of bed this morning, she was lying on the driveway.” So it appears that we now have a deer.”
Pat assumed the wild animal was in distress since she kept returning, and she was searching for a safe haven. As it turned out, the beautiful little critter was not only hungry, but also suffering from a nasty eye infection. As a result, he resolved to assist her. He also frequently uploaded videos of his visitor, Bambi, who instantly became friends with his canine companion, Zoey.
“Just helping the animal get on her feet,” Pat posted on Instagram. She’s been drinking goat milk and going around the yard today, and her eye infection is doing better after she pulled several ticks.” The one with the compassionate Zoey snuggling with his newest companion, though, was the cutest of his posts. Pat described the amazing sight, “Words can’t capture this sweetness.”
The artist also said that he sought assistance from certain animal rescue organizations but was denied down for a variety of reasons. Pat, on the other hand, is adamant on caring for the deer for as long as it takes. “So we’ll keep caring for the infant till mother returns,” he wrote. “She’s doing a lot better now!” Taking goat’s milk has cleared up her eye problem, and the ticks have left her alone.”
