James Brunt makes intricate ephemeral artworks out of natural materials found in forests, parks, and beaches near his home in Yorkshire, England. This type of land art, popularized and often associated with fellow Brit Andy Goldsworthy, consists of intricate patterns, textures, and shapes formed from multiples of the same material. Brunt collects twigs, rocks, and leaves and arranges them in spirals and concentric circles reminiscent of mandalas. He photographs his finished work to preserve it before nature reclaims his materials. The artist frequently updates his followers on Twitter and Facebook, and he occasionally invites the public to join him as he works. Brunt’s website also sells prints of his photographed artworks.

Although every work is beautiful, moving stones is quite damaging to the microenvironments around them. Please consider “sticking” to the leaves and twigs. Thank you
