“She absolutely loves it.”
Billie, the rescue pig, had never been in a pool before, much less owned one. When she arrived at Arthur’s Acres Animal Sanctuary, however, that changed.
The water-loving pig can’t get enough of it now.
Todd Friedman, Billie’s father, told The Dodo, “She totally loves it.” “She spends her days lounging by the pool, eating, or grazing.”
Friedman marveled as the 2-and-a-half-year-old Kunekune pig stepped into the pool for the first time and stayed in the same location for “no less than three hours.” They had to keep checking on Billie to make sure she was okay, but she was eventually fine.
Billie’s reaction to her new pool can be seen here:
Billie used to live in a damp basement that flooded frequently. She and her pig brother, Moby, were rescued and given a second chance at life at the rescue. The pool, according to Billie’s delighted expression, is the nicest thing that’s ever happened to her.
Billie enjoys relaxing in more than just the pool. She can also be found soaking up the rays in the pond or standing near the water’s edge, mouth open, waiting for a treat to fall in.
Billie may be living her best life right now, but Friedman is the one who gives her credit.
Friedman remarked, “She taught me a lot about forgiving.” “She has every right to be upset after spending her childhood in a damp, dark, and cold basement.”
He said, “She likes everyone – and I mean everyone.” “She is so upbeat and doesn’t seem to be bothered by anything.”
