The bond between humans and animals is powerful, but unfortunately, not every animal receives the love and care they deserve. Countless furry friends roam the streets, abandoned, sad, and without anyone to love them. This is the story of Lisa, a pregnant dog found lying on the road, a victim of human cruelty. Despite her severe injuries, her assailant left her to suffer.
When a young boy spotted Lisa, she was weak and unable to stand, making her rescue all the more challenging. Although her story was shared on social media, no one came forward to help her. It wasn’t until a pro-animal rights organization intervened that Lisa was finally saved. Sadly, it was too late to save her puppies, and the young dog had lost them all.
“She looked to have recently given birth, but owing to rectal prolapse and despair, she lost all of her puppies.” “We were concerned that if we approached her with food, she might escape, but happily the meal grabbed her attention,” a representative from the Animal Rescue organization said.
The volunteers who rescued Lisa approached her with caution, putting in a lot of effort and taking firm measures to bring her to safety and help her recover. But it was no easy feat. Lisa had suffered greatly and was understandably afraid, skeptical, and constantly on the defensive. She wouldn’t even drink water, so the life-saving fluids had to be administered by syringe.
Despite everything she’d been through, Lisa is now healing. She’s eating better, she’s calmer, and she’s making progress. “She was extremely thin, dehydrated, fragile, and anemic as a result of the maltreatment throughout the pregnancy and the children’ deaths,” said the Animal Rescue organization. “What was the point of torturing this poor stray? Did they simply beat her because she was attempting to feed her children?”
The story of Lisa is not unique. Countless animals suffer in silence, without a voice to speak up for them. But thanks to the heroic efforts of animal rescuers and advocates, many animals like Lisa can receive the care they need and deserve. Let’s all do our part to protect and care for our furry friends.
