In early May, I captured a stunning Dutch landscape at sunset. By carefully aligning the scene, I created an optical illusion that divided the image into four distinct quadrants. Excited by the result, I shared the photo on X, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. The response was overwhelmingly positive.
On Saturday, someone shared my image on X without credit. After a follower alerted me, I politely claimed it, and the original sharer re-shared it with proper credit. This boosted its visibility across platforms like BlueSky, Mastodon, and Reddit.
The sudden attention was thrilling but challenging, especially with the recent birth of my second grandchild. Managing social media interactions while spending time with family required a delicate balance. Despite some teasing about my modest “viral” success, I am pleased. The experience underscored social media’s value in content marketing and gaining recognition.
The photo’s magic lies in precise technique. Using an iPhone 12 mini with its grid feature and HDR setting, I ensured the camera was level and the lighting balanced, enhancing natural light without “photoshopping.” This journey has been humbling and enlightening, highlighting the beauty of a Dutch landscape and the power of social media in connecting with a global audience.
