It’s heartbreaking to think that anyone would try to stand between people and their pets, but it does happen: we’ve heard many stories of people making their significant others choose between them and their dog.
That was the case for one man, who went on Craigslist after his girlfriend made him give away his dog — but there’s a twist…
A man in Roanoke, Virginia posted an ad on Craigslist titled “Free to any willing home,” along with a photo of his beagle, Molly.
He explained that he had no other choice, because his girlfriend does not like the dog.
“My girlfriend does not like my beagle Molly. So I have to rehome her,” he wrote.
“She is purebred from a wealthy area and I have had her for 4-years. She likes to play games. Not trained. Has long hair so she’s a little high maintenance, especially the nails, but she loves having them done. Stays up all night yapping but sleeps while I work. Only eats the best, most expensive food. Will NEVER greet you at the door after a long day or give you unconditional love when you’re down. Does not bite but she can be mean as hell!”
It sounds like he’s talking about the dog… but then there’s a twist:
“So… anyone interested in my 30-year-old, selfish, wicked, gold-digging girlfriend? Come and get her! My dog and I want her re-homed ASAP!”
It seems that the man, given the choice between his girlfriend and his beloved dog Molly, kicked his girlfriend to the curb — and honestly, we’d do the same thing.
