This might be the first sip she’s ever taken.
K8m14, a TikTok user, had a nice encounter with one of the Middle East’s cutest people on a hot day in a sweltering desert.
It was a jerboa, a little, jumping mouse, and she came bearing a modest request. She was obviously thirsty.

It may not come as a surprise that the small jerboa was looking for a cool drink given that K8m14 claims that the day’s high temperature was a scorching 107 degrees Fahrenheit.
However, it’s noteworthy to note that this could be the first drink of water she’s ever consumed.
It turns out that jerboas are so adapted to living in the dry parts of Asia and north Africa where they are found that they can usually meet all of their water needs exclusively through the food they consume.
The jerboa mostly forages at night and consumes plants, seeds, and insects in order to satisfy its thirst for water, according to Jay Sharp of DesertUSA. It might never really sip unpaid water in its entire life.
But jerboas are known to drink water when it is offered to them. The thirsty jerboa K8m14 encountered that day perhaps left completely satisfied after discovering a source of transportable water in the desert along with some human goodwill.
