“We’ve never had a rabbit show up in our yard before.”
Morgan Atha never imagined that installing a security camera to monitor her home would also aid an animal in need. However, when she recently watched the video, she noticed a small white rabbit running around aimlessly, as if in search of his loved ones.
While Atha wasn’t instantly aware of his origin, she was certain that she needed to assist.
Atha told us, “We were in our garage when my husband turned around and said, ‘There’s a white rabbit in our yard.'” He arrived from behind our home in the woods, as we could see when we glanced back at our cameras. A rabbit has never previously appeared in our yard.
Atha had never seen anything like this before, despite living in a place with lots of open space. The bunny didn’t seem to be a wild animal; rather, it was a domestic pet rabbit.
It took Atha, her husband, and their neighbor around 10 minutes to entice the rabbit inside the dog’s box. “At that point, we understood how composed and kind he was.”
The video from the camera is available here:

Even though Atha was unfamiliar with caring for rabbits, she quickly learned what to do in order to make the hungry and exhausted bunny comfortable.
The following evening, we drove to Tractor Supply and bought him hay and pellets for rabbits, Atha recalled. “We don’t know his age, but he appeared young.”
Because of the bunny’s friendliness and temporary name of Peter, Atha assumed that he had somehow become separated from his family.
The following day, we asked if anybody was missing him by sharing a photo of him to local lost pet groups and posting it on my Facebook page, according to Atha. I proceeded through the neighborhood as well, which connects to the area of the woods from which he originally came.
The search turned up nothing. After searching for Peter’s owners for a week, Atha made one more social media post asking if anybody would be interested in fostering or adopting him.
She wanted to offer her rabbit a companion, the woman said. Whatever it was that caused Peter to rush to Atha’s house for assistance, he at last discovered a lifelong home where he could live his finest life.
When she picked him up, Atha said, “she gave me a photo of [Peter] laying and hugging with her 8-year-old kid.” “I felt at rest knowing I accomplished something decent since it had a pleasant conclusion.”
