“He has no idea how mean the world has been to him.”
Chrissy Elder is accustomed to assisting animals in need via Forgotten, Now Family Rescue, which is why she visits her local shelter in Charlotte, North Carolina, many times every week to pick up some of the ignored strays.
Recently, a little puppy named Piggy piqued her interest, and she felt she needed to move quickly to offer Piggy some hope – and the greatest shot at a new life.
“They stated there is another [dog] in a kennel in the rear while I was there,” Elder told The Dodo. “He was so depressed and in such bad shape.”
After Elder rescued Piggy from the shelter, he was hospitalized to the veterinary emergency room for five days to be treated for his terrible skin condition.
“He went to a foster home three days a week and received medicinal baths,” Elder explained. “He was also given two rounds of medication for an illness.”

Piggy is showing indications of hair regeneration with a lot of TLC, and Elder believes he will soon have a full coat of fur.
“We’re getting some nice tiny patches now,” Elder added. “We do not expect he will remain [in this condition] indefinitely.”
Despite everything, Piggy is glad for a second opportunity at life.
Elder described him as “the nicest baby.” “He has no concept what the world has done to him.” He didn’t want to stand up the first day. He now runs and plays. He’s so cheerful, his little piglet ears flapping in the breeze, and he’s so thrilled to see everyone.”
Piggy is seeking for a forever home now that he is on the mend. The sole qualification is that you enjoy floppy ears.
