A mother always knows what is best for her family, and the same is true for animals.
Mama Ally, a stray cat, recently decided she’d had enough of the streets and moved her family to a safe haven.
The mother cat and her two fluffy, white kittens waited anxiously on the porch of a North Carolina family’s house, peering in through the glass.
When the homeowner noticed Mama Ally with her babies, she phoned Sparkle Cat Rescue for assistance. The rescue team intervened to apprehend the small family and transport them to safety. But it didn’t take long for them to understand Mama Ally had another surprise in store for them: she was pregnant.
The charity approached Murphy’s Law Animal Rescue and CEO Sarah Kelly about fostering Mama Ally. Kelly agreed right away to provide the cat a suitable home where she could spend her final trimester in peace.
When Mama Ally arrived, she made care to thank her new people.
“The second she was returned home, she was immediately demanding attention from her foster, Monica,” Kelly told The Dodo. “She likes to cuddle up on her lap, on her arm, or wherever she can get a good snuggle in!” If she has left the house, she will spend the day napping on her shoes or apparel that smells like her. She adores people and receives attention.”
Weeks passed, and Mama Ally demonstrated once more why she is Mother of the Year.
Kelly described her as having “the nicest heart.” “To have cared for her elder kittens for so long and so well, outside as a stray – seeking help — she has demonstrated what a golden heart she has!” She gave birth to her five children like a rockstar and has devotedly cared for them like the finest mother in the world.”
Mama Ally’s bonded elder kittens have all been adopted, and it’s now just a matter of finding homes for Ally and her five new kids. And their bright future is entirely due to Ally’s ability to recognize when it was time to seek assistance.
“Mama Ally is doing fantastic and soaking up all the baby snuggles – as well as the TLC from her foster,” Kelly added. “We couldn’t be happier for this family, who are finally receiving the second chances and happily-ever-afters they deserve.”
