During a scuffle with policemen inside a fast-food restaurant on Tuesday, a man was charged with animal cruelty involving a pet rat.
According to court papers, Sebastian Thomas Dumaurier, 38, a homeless man, slumped inside McDonald’s on East Northampton Street shortly after 3 p.m.
According to court documents, Dumaurier had indicators of active overdose, including blue lips, purple complexion, and weak breathing. A white rat crawled over Dumaurier’s chest while cops assessed him.
When Dumaurier was informed of the arrest warrant, he fought back and forcefully squeezed his pet rat, according to court papers. (Lord have compassion) Officers informed Dumaurier that he was murdering his pet rat in exchange for the animal’s freedom and handcuffing.
