That moment she knows he’s near
Meet Lyla, a beautiful puppy that, despite being blind and deaf, is capable of identifying the people she loves the most.
Their love is in the air for her.
Lyla’s father, Mark Reed, just gave firsthand evidence of this.
Reed had obviously planned to place a chair in the yard where Lyla was investigating. Though the dog had no way of knowing Reed had joined her there, his kind presence didn’t go unnoticed for long.
Lyla’s nose identified her father, even from a distance, with one joyous smell — and her heart was filled with joy:
@markreed2009 When she all of a sudden smells my scent 😭😭😭😭😭😭

It’s probably a situation that happens all the time for Lyla’s family, but that doesn’t take away from the sweetness of her reply – understanding Lyla’s loss of sight and hearing doesn’t limit her capacity to love and be loved.
And, in the end, that’s all that matters.
