“Now she can finally heal” ❤️
Morgan, Reese’s best friend, and she were always together. The two elderly rescues shared as much time as they could eating, sleeping, and cuddling. But when Morgan, who was 12 at the time, went away from kidney disease, circumstances for the close-knit pair altered, and Reese’s grief took a toll.
Reese’s mother Amy Thatcher told The Dodo, “I baked her special doggy cupcakes and slept on a mattress on my living room floor for a bit so she could sleep with me.” Reese adores puppies, so I even picked up some foster puppies for a few days. Nothing was effective.
Reese’s condition rapidly deteriorated. She stopped eating and spent the majority of her days trembling in bed. Thatcher made the decision to get Reese another friend from Best Friends Animal Society to help the grieving dog fill the emptiness left by losing Morgan because nothing appeared to lessen his suffering.
Jeep’s attractive face drew my attention as I scrolled through the available pets, Thatcher remarked. I had only ever adopted senior dogs before Jeep. I decided to adopt a younger dog because Reese didn’t handle Morgan’s death well, and I didn’t want to risk making her go through another loss.
When Thatcher first met Jeep, he fell head over heels for him. She was confident that Reese would adore him despite the fact that he wasn’t exactly like Morgan.
Thatcher reported that “he greeted me with a wiggling butt and a bright smile.” “He came over and got on my lap as soon as I sat down on the floor. He took my heart at that precise instant.
When Thatcher adopted Jeep and showed him to Reese, she fell in love with him as well. Her heart started to heal gradually but surely, and now the two are inseparable.
Thatcher remarked, “Jeep has brought out this young, playful side of Reese. She still wants to play with her “little brother” even though she will be 14 in a month. She despises his absence from the house and is overjoyed when he does.

Jeep reassures Reese that everything will be fine, something Thatcher also believes. Nevertheless, Reese will always mourn Morgan.
Thatcher remarked, “Morgan improved my life simply by being herself, and I’ll never forget her.” But when my heart was broken, just like Reese’s, Jeep entered my life. I don’t know how we would have survived without him, but he helped us get through a difficult time.
