When rescue workers discovered Oliver, a puppy covered in flies, lying under a car in India, they assumed the worst had happened.
When they got closer to the poor guy, they discovered his little heart was still beating. Animal Aid Unlimited’s rescue team carefully wrapped the vulnerable dog in a blanket and carried him away.
He was so frail and underweight that they had to take extra precautions with him: he hadn’t eaten in a long time, his skinny legs couldn’t support his weight, and his temperature was dangerously low.
Caring personnel warmed him up with blankets and rubbed him while administering IV fluids. After an hour, an incredible journey began.
The brave little dog began to show his fighting spirit, looking around and clearly determined to live. Later that day, he began to try to stand on his own and was showing signs of beginning a remarkable recovery.
Medical personnel examined him and discovered he had a severe respiratory illness, implying that his rehabilitation would be lengthy and difficult.
He improved over the next two months, but then his condition deteriorated and he died. But this tough dog didn’t give up; he recovered and astounded the entire rescue team.
