Once a long-awaited wonder, the polar bear, arrived in the globe, one of Novosibirsk’s largest zoos became a truly happy place. Polar bears are the world’s greatest predators, reproducing once every two or three years in a natural habitat and even less frequently in an artificial habitat.
Kay and Gerda, ecstatic white bear parents, gave birth to their second cub on December 7th, 2015. The adorable bear was born hairless and helpless. The cub spends the first several months of its life in the den with its mother until it grows stronger. Because it is difficult to establish the gender of the cub at this time, it is too early to name this wild animal.
This small snow bear opened its eyes and raised its ears in January. This adorable critter has a healthy appetite and is rapidly gaining weight. Because the staff is afraid of the male’s unpredictable reaction, he is not permitted to see the young one or the mother. As a result, Kay will be housed in a separate cage for a year.
The adorable bear and its mother were first let out of the den into the open air when they were a little older. The tiny creature is taking in the first snowfall of its existence. It keeps a wary eye on the world while while having a good time with its mother.
