In ancient Vietnam, our grandparents often had a joke, “Ugly like a hippopotamus,” to tease those unfortunate people who did not have a very sparkling appearance. But that joke has become something of a bygone era, now that hippos have taken the throne to become the new standard of cuteness.
Fiona, a 10-month-old hippo at the Cincinnati Zoo in Ohio, USA, was once receiving attention from the public due to her weak condition when she was born six weeks premature. She now charms visitors to the zoo with countless adorable hippo-like expressions and other talents such as eating, sleeping, and playing disorganized.
You probably know, the word “fart” in English means “the flow of miasma that gathers in the solar plexus, going out of the body along the way… oh well.” And right in the word “fart,” we have “art,” meaning “art.” Combining it all, we have Fiona—the hippo who turns farting into art with performances that leave one wondering whether to admire or find them funny.
Recently, a couple whose circumstances were unknown for some reason pulled together in the middle of the mountains and wild animals in the heart of the city to propose. He knelt down, she held her mouth and smiled, friends on both sides took photos to record the happy moment, and somehow miraculously, when the photos were developed, the main character was Fiona. Surprise?
This hippo always knows when fans’ lights will shine on her to pose for photos. This talent has only been seen before in handsome, posing Italian football players. But this year, Italy will be eliminated from the World Cup for the first time in nearly 60 years, and Fiona is still admired by the residents here as usual—no harm done.
When a girl comes of age, she will get married; Fiona the hippo may be young, but if you have to consider her future, Tony (not Stark), from the San Diego Zoo, will be the number one candidate. This guy became the star of the zoo when he was born healthy, ate well, slept well, and when he was old, he learned to swim. All the things that every hippo has to do, but Tony lives in the center of the universe (also known as San Diego), and his friends live in the Amazon forest—no one cares-zon, so most of Tony’s every move becomes an internet phenomenon.
As cute and adorable as this is, if Fiona and Tony have a chance to meet each other, who knows, maybe they will both become childhood sweethearts! And besides these famous hippos, in the wild, baby hippos are also very adorable!
