On camera, a hammerhead shark was seen Monday morning chasing three stingrays off the coast of an Alabama beach.
As of Tuesday, the Facebook video had around 30,000 views.
Alec Deshotel, Catarena Peek’s boyfriend, and she visit Orange Beach each year, she told WALA. For the Texans, this will be a trip to remember.
Deshotel declared, “We have never seen something like this before for sure.” “There it is, as I glance out the window. Whatever it was, it was a massive 10- to 12-foot hammerhead, and it was a big one. Its size is unknown, but it was enormous.
In the shallow area of the Gulf, the enormous shark chased stingrays to demonstrate its speed. The few individuals in the water can be seen scurrying to exit in the footage.
There was a man down there yelling that there was a shark, and I believe they finally saw the dorsal fin and understood how close he was approaching so they started diving out of the water as quickly as they could, according to Peek.
Peek claimed that she began recording since, at barely 10 a.m., it was the second shark they had spotted from their 10-story balcony. Her video soon gained popularity on Facebook.
She said, “I just ended up recording it, and it was a really cool video, so I just put it on Facebook thinking a couple hundred of my friends would find it kind of cool, and then all of a sudden, I looked down at my phone and it was over 100,000 views, and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s pretty cool,'”
The sighting, according to Peek and Deshotel, did not deter them from entering the sea. Peek, a certified diver, claimed to have spent her entire childhood swimming with sharks. Deshotel claimed that while deep sea fishing, he encounters sharks. Still, for both of them, this was a first.
“Definitely an experience of a lifetime. The two said, “It was simply incredibly cool to witness.
