Momoa explains, “Our gods are water gods.” “It was natural for him to do so because he is half-Atlantean and half-human. It really seemed incredibly right.”
Water, Momoa says, has been one of the most important instructors in his life. “It teaches me patience, love, courage, and bravery, yet it also puts fear in me and shows me where my position is,” he adds. “It keeps me grounded.”
“It’s the salt… it seems like I grow younger and simply rips away whatever negativity that I have when I jump in the Hawaiian sea,” he says. “As a result, I have a deep appreciation and passion for being in the water.”
The actor, best known for his role as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, performed the traditional Maori battle dance.
Jason Momoa is well known to his fans as Khal Drogo for his epic performance in the HBO series “Game of Thrones.”
“To say I was blown away is an understatement. I’m really humbled to be a part of the heartbroken family, and I’m speechless for the haka today. I will always go into fight and give it my best, and I appreciate the support I have received from you all today. Fighting is a part of Maori culture and has always been a part of my life, and I’m grateful to be able to share a bit of it with you.”
Momoa brings a 1.93m tall, 106kg physique and Hawaiian, Irish, and Native American descent to the role of Aquaman, a character often depicted in comics and animation as a blonde caucasian. It’s a potent combination, and Snyder’s sense is clear the instant Momoa enters the room: he emanates magnetism from every pore.
