Meet Kahn, a stunning male African lion, and Sheila, a rare white lioness, who are a lovely couple of felines.
Before being rescued by Texas’ In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Education Center, the couple had been held in captivity together.
When Kahn was taken in, he was starved and had the end of his tail eaten off as a source of tension and boredom.
“However, he was quite sociable, so it was simple to treat him and make him feel at ease in his new surroundings.” Sheila, on the other hand, was in excruciating pain… Vicky Keahey, the rescue’s founder, claimed, “Sheila was almost dead.”
Sheila was only 15 months old when she was rescued, and she was so frail that she couldn’t even stand; all she could do was lie down and vomit on a daily basis.
The USDA had advised the rescue that she would almost certainly have to be killed, but they were not ready to give up on her just yet.
Vicky had to hand feed Sheila for two weeks, wrapping up meatballs and forcing them down her mouth, according to Angela Culver of In-Sync.
“It took some time for them both to recuperate,” she said.
“Sheila spent the next few months showing off for Kahn, and Kahn strutted his stuff for her,” Keahey claimed, adding that it appeared to be love at first sight.
