It’s always encouraging to watch individuals going above and beyond to help animals, even if it means putting themselves in danger. We’ve heard countless stories about folks braving the conditions to save a stranded pet.
This was recently demonstrated when two police officers braved a frigid reservoir to rescue a trapped puppy.
According to Reuters, the event occurred in Aragon, in eastern Spain. Two cops risked the freezing waves and swam out to save the dog.
The reservoir was obviously frozen, and the cops, who were naked to the waist, waded through pieces of ice to reach the hapless animal. A cold front brought heavy snow and powerful winds to the area, according to reports.
However, video shows the cops successfully reaching the dog, who appears undeterred by the bitter weather.
They lead the dog back to the shore after capturing it.
According to NewsOn6, the dog had been in the water for a “long period” before authorities got the call that morning.
It’s unknown if the dog was a stray or someone’s pet, or where it was transported next.
But, due to the cops who risked the cold to save the dog’s life, it is now safe from the frigid water.
