When this Florida cop responded to a routine call, he had no idea he’d wind up with a new best buddy. The loving cop, on the other hand, fell in love with the lovely puppy he saw at first sight. It was enough to take him into his arms for a few seconds and never let him go. They’ve become inseparable!
Officer Marcus Montgomery of the Fort Walton Beach Police Department was summoned to the Panhandle Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) — a local shelter – to deal with a situation involving the center and a former employee. But he had no idea that by the end of the day, he’d made a new furry companion.
The officer told BuzzFeed, “We chatted for approximately 20 minutes and I was winding up my investigation.” “One of the supervisors departed, and while I was still talking to PAWS’ director, the supervisor returned with this small dog in her arms.” His eyelids were heavy and he was yawning repeatedly, so you could tell he’d been sleeping.”
Officer Montgomery couldn’t help but fall in love with the lovely little creature as soon as he met him, especially after learning about his tragic tale. The puppy was apparently placed in a box on the shelter’s doorsteps overnight, and a staffer discovered him the next morning. Officer Montgomery knew he wouldn’t go empty-handed after embracing him for a few seconds, so he adopted Kylo – as he ultimately called him – right immediately.
“I just looked in his eyes as he yawned at me when the supervisor brought him in, and I told the supervisor, ‘Don’t bring him in here, because I’m going to take him home right now,'” Montgomery recounted.
Not just officer Montgomery, but everyone, even his other dog Vader, fell in love with the adorable Kylo once he brought him home. “My girlfriend and I have wanted another dog for a long time since Vader, our other rescue, enjoys meeting and playing with other dogs,” he explained. “Unfortunately, we knew people would look beyond Kylo, even at his age, since they didn’t want to deal with the responsibility that comes with a dog like him.”
