Someone from 300 kilometers away called her owner.
Sanny, the cat, was delighted to discover a new amenity in the home she shares with her owner in Hagen, Germany, last month.
It was a huge cardboard package with a hefty vehicle component that her father had ordered but intended to return.
That appeared like the ideal spot for an afternoon sleep to Sanny. So she tucked herself deep within and fell asleep.
But it was the start of Sanny’s issues.
Sanny’s owner, unaware that the auto component box now held his pet cat, re-sealed it and dropped it off to be dispatched. Sanny was on the move in no time, going hundreds of miles by mail to her unknowing destination.
Sanny’s craving for dreamtime had been her undoing, turning her life into a nightmare.
But, happily, things did not remain that way indefinitely.
The package was sent to the vehicle part maker, ATP Auto Parts, more than 300 miles away in the city of Pressath, about 48 hours after Sanny’s owner mailed it – car part, cat, and all. The package stayed there for another 30 hours before being opened by an employee.
Then Sanny appeared.
Fortunately, Sanny was healthy and unharmed during the transportation procedure, except from being thirsty, hungry, and afraid.
Employees at the workplace greeted her with open arms and provided her with the assistance she required. Nonetheless, they were perplexed by the entire situation.
ATP Auto Parts commented, “Such returns with a cat in a box do not happen every day.”
But from where had she come? The clues she needed were all in the package she arrived in.
Meanwhile, Sanny’s owner had spent the preceding days mourning at home, 300 miles away. His cat had inexplicably vanished, and he believed she was lost for good.
Then ATP Auto Parts called and informed him of the issue.
The business added, “The owner would never have guessed [Sanny] had gone on such an excursion.”
Sanny was OK, much to his relief. And, happily for the cat, the journey back home would be less uncomfortable.
Her relatives arrived to fetch her up.
The misadventure that had been started by Sanny’s love of boxes had come to an end with that.
Her owner, who couldn’t be happier to have her back, said:
“I am overjoyed and appreciative to ATP Auto Parts for taking such good care of my cat and providing her with a temporary home.”
