Can you solve the mystery? 🕵️♀️
In recent months, Nikoletta Mucsányi has been practicing her wildlife photography in a place close to her house in Tiszavasvári, Hungary, where many animals enjoy running around and having fun. She has observed a variety of animals there, including birds and rabbits, but during this visit, she was particularly interested in the deer.
Before returning up the winding road from the farmlands to where she lives, Mucsányi spent some time taking pictures of the deer, some of which were elegant and others humorous. She saw two deer chasing each other across a field on the way back and promptly got off her bike to take some more shots.
It was challenging for Mucsányi to determine whether she had taken any effective pictures because the deer were leaping around in a joyous frenzy. As soon as the pair realized she was observing them and left, she left, eager to see what types of photos she had managed to get.
“I didn’t anticipate any decent pictures… I didn’t even bother to look at my composition or settings, Mucsányi said to The Dodo. “I just wanted to somehow record the moment.”
She hadn’t really sure what to anticipate, but one of the pictures was undoubtedly above and above what she had anticipated.
The following day, Mucsányi was browsing through her images when she came across one that caused her to start giggling. She didn’t know what was going on or how it had happened, but whatever it was, it made her happy right away.
Two deer could be seen in the image: one that appeared to be normal and the other that resembled a ghost. Mucsányi made the decision to share the picture online and solicit feedback since he was curious as to how this had occurred.
I shared the picture to a few Facebook groups in the hopes that someone could elucidate because I couldn’t even imagine it, according to Mucsányi. Two days later, a sympathetic group member explained: “I believe I understand what you’ve done. The Canon D series has an option that is meant to increase contrast in photographs (when used with a tripod).
Three photographs are taken, one main and two fading, and they are then combined. If you look closely, you can notice that everything has a ghost double that is slightly to the right and down (although the deer is moving, so it appears to be straight below).
With one minor exception, this explanation seemed to me entirely acceptable.
This means that there should only be one deer in my picture, remarked Mucsányi. “At this point, I noticed two deer moving together closely across the field until they came to a shrub adjacent to the road. I am positive that there were two deer in the frame because this picture was taken in the midst of a field, yet it is technically impossible.
Mucsányi also took some more odd and vaguely perplexing pictures, but none compared to the ghost picture. Although many other individuals have their own opinions and speculations regarding the image, it appears that it may continue to be somewhat of a mystery.
“My family found it amusing and informative, so I chose to share it with others… and the responses were the funniest: “Awesome method to divert the Dementors; the deer’s Patronus is also a deer!” It may have appeared real to you since you can actually see ghosts, but the camera wasn’t tricked. “Defense technique to perplex hunters.” He is riding a ghost deer, surfing. A million times before.” You observed her experiencing an out-of-body sensation! Nothing in this image appears to be real. It appears to be a painting. Mucsányi remarked, “You scared it so badly its soul left her body.
In spite of the fact that no one will ever be able to be certain of what is happening in the image, Mucsányi is appreciative of it. It makes for a great discussion starter.
