Imagine walking on a beach where you can witness the confluence of sea, sand, and snow. What a spellbinding experience that would be. A post on Instagram has gone viral, bringing to our attention a simply surreal place in Japan. The post features snow on one side, the sea on the other, and a man walking on the sand right in between them.
This beautiful beach is known as Hokkaido Beach in Japan. The image is from the San’in Kaigan UNESCO Global Geopark, according to many users. It is situated in the west of Japan and runs from the western Hakuto Kaigan Coast in Tottori to the eastern Kyogamisaki Cape in Kyoto.
Numerous geological sites connected to the development of the Sea of Japan can be found in this geopark. It has geological features such as valleys, sand dunes, sand bars, volcanoes, and beaches resembling rias. The site has witnessed as many as three earthquakes and other disasters.
This miraculous confluence of sea, sand, and snow took over the internet, and people could not stop talking about it. Many people commented on the picture, saying that it inspired them to travel and explore the world. Netizens could not help but share this picture, and hence the picture went viral.
