It’s often difficult to realize how quickly children grow up before your eyes. Each lovely milestone with her baby has been a moment to savour for first-time mum Bindi Irwin. Each “first” has been a reason for excitement, from her first pair of Australia Zoo khakis to the babe’s first contact with a koala. Grace Warrior is about to turn one year old, and the Irwin family is gearing up to celebrate her first birthday in style.
Irwin, who is overjoyed, announced on Instagram that a celebration would be held at the Australia Zoo to celebrate Grace’s first birthday. “It’s hard to think our lovely Grace Warrior is almost ONE! “Join us @AustraliaZoo for all the festivities on Friday, March 25,” she posted. The message is attached to a sweet photo of her newborn girl sitting in a field of grass with various animal buddies and a candle-topped birthday cake.
Children ages 14 and younger will be admitted free to the zoo in honor of Grace’s one-year anniversary. A live crocodile feeding at the Crocoseum, a live concert with Bluey and Bingo, a safari challenge obstacle course, and free birthday cupcakes will all be part of the celebrations. The occasion also coincides with the grand inauguration of Camp Grace, the zoo’s newest playground, which is named after the birthday girl. There will also be a live webcast accessible for those who are unable to attend in person, allowing well-wishers from all around the world to participate in the celebrations.
The celebration will undoubtedly be a blast for everyone, but no one will be more thrilled to spend this momentous day with Grace than the happy mother herself. Irwin, 23, has spent the past year watching her daughter develop and grow, and she thinks parenthood has transformed her. “Becoming a mother alters your outlook on life, and being a girl mother comes with its own set of challenges,” Irwin explains. “I feel a tremendous feeling of responsibility for raising our daughter to be a strong lady.”
