Animals don’t care if you’re trying to take a picture or if you’re on a video call, let’s face it. If our work-at-home culture has taught us anything, it’s that pets are naturally curious and will interrupt a snapshot or video to see what they’re missing. Wild animals, it turns out, share the same mindset as our domesticated cats and dogs. Many wildlife photographers agree that animals of all sizes are fascinated by what these people are doing with their cameras.
Joaquim Campa gathered an exhaustive list of animals interrupting wildlife photographers in a now-viral Twitter thread. Simply put, the photographs shown are wonderful. Foxes, meerkats, leopard cubs, penguins, and even a big seal peer into the camera or jump on top of the photographer. Animals have been known to climb behind the camera and become photographers. Regardless of their break-in approach, it’s tough not to go “awww” while admiring these fun and curious critters as you scroll through the thread.
If you’re wondering how many photographs like these may possible exist, the answer is a lot. Campa done his study, as evidenced by the amazing number of photographs in his thread. There are a total of 40! It’s a palate cleanser for the timeline that we can all benefit from now and then. To see our picks, scroll down.
