Earthquakes caused great destruction in Adıyaman

Hundreds of houses, mosques, schools and workplaces were destroyed and many parked vehicles were damaged in Adıyaman, which was affected by the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes.

Adıyaman was one of the most damaged provinces in the earthquakes of 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude, centered in Kahramanmaraş, affecting 10 provinces.

Search and rescue teams from abroad and from many provinces of the country continue their efforts to save the survivors of the debris of hundreds of buildings destroyed by two earthquakes.

Hundreds of houses, mosques, schools and workplaces were destroyed in the city, which turned into a pile of debris, and many vehicles remained in the wreckage of the collapsed buildings.

Those whose houses were damaged in the earthquake were placed in tents set up by AFAD, Kızılay and gendarmerie teams in many parts of the city.

Due to the damage to the Gynecology and Children’s Hospital building, the fully equipped Field Hospital established by the Ministry of Health provides health services to children and adults.

Within the scope of the study initiated by the Ministry of Family and Social Services, experts carry out psychosocial support work for families and their children staying in tent cities.

The damage that occurred in the city, where all institutions are mobilized to heal the wounds, reveals the severity of the earthquake.

Hasan Kara, who lived the moment of the earthquake, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that they lived a day like the apocalypse.

Explaining that he was caught in the earthquake at home, Kara said, “All the houses next to our house were destroyed. We hurriedly threw ourselves out. The outside was wailing. We suffered great damage. All the belongings in our houses became unusable. Hundreds of vehicles were left in the wreckage in this neighborhood. Everything that was in the hands of the nation was gone. ” said.

Earthquake survivor Mehmet Er said, “Everywhere turned into debris. I lost my relatives. On the one hand, we are saddened by the loss of our homes and belongings on the one hand. used the phrases.
