Nothing compares to the relationship between a youngster and their dog. Every child should grow up with a dog since they are not only wonderful friends but also fierce protectors of their owners, constantly eager to put themselves in danger to protect them.
That’s what one little but brave dog demonstrated this week when she protected her 10-year-old owner from a coyote, injuring herself in the process.
Macy is a six-year-old Yorkie mix that lives in Scarborough, Toronto, with her owner Dorothy Kwan and her family.
Macy was out on a stroll with the family’s 10-year-old daughter recently when things took a dramatic turn when the kid came face to face with a wild coyote.
But, miraculously, the small dog stood up to be a hero, fighting the coyote to protect her owner.
Watch this spectacular video moment:
The video is upsetting, with the coyote assaulting Macy in the background while the girl pleads for help.
But, in the end, Macy wins the battle: Macy continues to bark, and the coyote eventually flees, as though scared away by the smaller canine.
Dorothy Kwan told blogTO, “You can see our dog placing herself between my kid and the coyote.” “Even after she was badly hurt, she kept barking and chasing the coyote away.” She retaliated.”
While Macy was successful in repelling the coyote, she was left with serious injuries. “She had significant injuries to her body and leg,” Dorothy wrote. “At the emergency animal hospital, she is having surgery for her wounds.”
Dorothy was heartbroken, knowing that her beloved little dog had been harmed in order to save her daughter. “My heart breaks for both my child and our dog, whom we rescued five years ago.” I’m a single mother of two, and my children and our dog mean the world to me.”
Macy was sent to an animal hospital for treatment of her wounds, but the bill came to thousands of dollars.
People came through when the family set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for the finances and share Macy’s courageous tale with the world: the page has nearly $20,000, more than double its fundraising target.
Even better, Macy is already healing well, according to Dorothy’s updates on the GoFundMe website.
“Her fever has subsided, and she has regained her appetite,” she wrote today. “I am quite proud of her. When she returns home, no coyotes will want to meddle with her. My fiery young lady is a great warrior. I adore you so much. “You can do it!”
What a courageous little puppy. We wish heroic Macy a speedy recovery!
Please share this incredible tale!

I have had two Yorkshire Terriers myself and can’t testify that they are a fearless brave little friends. God bless Macy.

I am so sorry about your brave little dog being injured. I would just like to let you know that GFM takes a HUGE portion of the donated funds. They should not be used. Get your money out while you can and open a bank account for this purpose. That way you will keep all the donations for your baby.
