Terrified Kitten Weaves Her Way Through a Busy Highway Until a Woman Stops To Assist Her

Laila D’Souza was driving home from work in Kuwait when she took a mistake turn and wound up on an unfamiliar road. But, as fate would have it, a little cat became separated from its mother on the same roadway, zigzagging in and out of traffic.

D’Souza’s decision to pull over to the side to assist the tiny cat impacted both of their lives forever.

“He stopped in the emergency lane,” D’Souza, founder of Rescue For Winston, told The Dodo. “I pulled over to get him, but he was so scared he crawled inside my car.”

She looked for the fearful kitten for 10 minutes without success, then drove gently home in case he’d pulled himself up into her car.

“I searched beneath my car again when I came home, but there was no sign of him,” D’Souza claimed. “I heard weak meows about three hours later.” To my surprise, he had grabbed my automobile from beneath.”

She called a roadside assistance agency, and they assisted in getting him out. D’Souza crated the terrified kitten and took him to the vet for a thorough examination.

“He was okay,” D’Souza stated, “but he was very affected from his horrific experience.” “With a little TLC each day, he warmed up until [he] gradually started trusting humans.”

The 5-week-old kitten, now named Hitch, has warmed up to D’Souza’s foster kittens and even enjoys sitting on people’s laps after his unique rescue. But it’s his small voice that D’Souza adores.

“His distinguishing attribute is his adorable squeaks that everyone adores,” D’Souza remarked. “He enjoys conversing with his little, adorable squeaks.”

Hitch has transformed from a fearful, wild kitten to an amazing love bug in just a few weeks. Not only that, but his shift influenced D’Souza as well.

“Hitch taught me that certain things do happen for a purpose,” D’Souza remarked. “I’d travelled that way home numerous times, so taking the wrong exit and ending up on another route by accident wasn’t a coincidence.”
