“When I walked into my room and turned the light on, I saw a giant lump …” 😮🐶
Lili has always been good at figuring things out, even when she was a puppy. Lili will find a way around a problem or develop something new if there is one.
Lili’s mother, Stephanie Williams, told The Dodo, “Lili and I took agility courses for a few years and she was the class clown.” “When she got tired of jumping over leaps, she’d just stroll through them because she knew the bar would tumble down easily.” She learned out how to get out of a locked kennel by pushing the cage’s edge with her nose until she found a weak spot. She shoved her head and then her entire body through it once she found it. To figure out how she was fleeing, I had to set up a camera.”
Lili continued trying to figure out a way to get the cone off when she was recovering from leg surgery and had to wear one. Her mother chose to keep her in her bedroom while she was out because she couldn’t fit in her kennel with the cone on. Lilli wasn’t too keen on the idea, and she was still worried about her cone, so she decided to find a project to concentrate on to divert her attention away from it.
“When I opened my bedroom door, Lili was wearing her cone and there was foam all over the place,” Williams claimed. “She ripped a hole in the mattress…” I packed my mattress to the best of my abilities and covered it with a mattress pad, thinking the problem was fixed.”
After then, Williams didn’t give the hole any thought. She was cleaning her linens and mattress pad a few months later when she accidentally left her bedroom door open. She couldn’t stop giggling when she returned inside and saw a pair of eyes peering back at her from inside the mattress.
“I spotted a large bump on my mattress as I stepped into my room and switched on the light,” Williams added. “It was Lili,” says the narrator. She sank into the hole she had dug months before.”
Lili discovered she fit nicely into the hole she’d made in the mattress now that she wasn’t wearing her cone. She was ecstatic as she nestled up within the wonderful hiding nook she’d built, and she was undoubtedly less than delighted when her mother had her crawl back out.
“I grabbed my camera and took a few shots of her inside the mattress, as well as videotaping her exit,” Williams recalled. “She appeared to be quite content in her small burrow.” I wasn’t mad at her because the harm had already been done by her digging the hole.”
Lili has always had a creative imagination, but her mattress burrow is undoubtedly one of her all-time favorites.
