After a thirsty squirrel appealed for assistance, a visitor offered it a drink. Paul Camps of Gloucester, England, was touring Arizona’s Grand Canyon when he saw the squirrel acting strangely.
“The squirrel started following me and putting its arms up to me like it wanted picked up, so I offered my water bottle to my girlfriend so I could snap a photo on my phone, and as I did, the squirrel started putting its arms up towards my girlfriend,” Paul told Storyful.
He and his partner saw the squirrel was thirsty and wanted to drink something. Paul held out the open bottle of water he had brought with him, and the squirrel drank from it until it was empty, holding the bottle steady in his small paws.
The poor animal may have been disoriented due to dehydration, but he was fortunate to know that these humans might be able to aid him. “Needless to say, we didn’t drink from the same bottle,” Paul joked after the parched squirrel finished his drink.
