“[He] is baffled as to why he is still here.”
Rocky, a loving shelter dog, has been waiting for someone to love him for almost a year.
Potential adopters walk through the doors of the Humane Society of Hamilton County, Indiana, every day looking for a new pet, but they never stop to look at Rocky. Rocky has yet to find a loving home, despite the fact that the dogs around him have.
Staff at the shelter wrote, “[He] doesn’t comprehend why he’s still here.”
Rocky, on the other hand, hasn’t given up hope.
Though Rocky’s year-long search for a family is tragic in the abstract, his caregivers have lately discovered a method to put his ordeal into a heartbreakingly personal context.
They installed a camera in Rocky’s kennel to capture exactly what he sees on a daily basis: numerous people going by without seeming to notice him.
Rocky, on the other hand, waits with a wagging tail — and a hopeful heart — for the day when everything changes:
The video above became viral after being put online last month, garnering millions of views in only a few weeks. Despite all of the attention, his situation hasn’t altered.
“Rocky is still waiting for his right person to come along,” his caregivers stated this week.
Rocky is characterized as a devoted, easygoing, and friendly dog that enjoys cuddling, vehicle rides, and outdoor play. He’d be best suited to a permanent home where he’d be the only pet and someone over the age of 16.
And with any luck, he’ll locate it soon, putting an end to his lengthy wait.
