This little dog had every reason to be suspicious and scared after being abandoned on the side of a desolate road.
Despite her tragic ordeal, the pup’s instinct to trust and love never left her.
Georgiana Neagu, an animal rescuer, recently shared heartbreaking footage of the moment she came across the stranded dog while driving in Romania.
The terrified dog runs toward Neagu after she stops her car, only to cower and cry as Neagu reaches out to her. The trauma the dog had endured, it appears, made her skeptical that anyone would treat her kindly.
But, once safe, the little dog blossomed, licking Neagu as if to thank him for making her feel safe enough to be her sweet self again.

“When I saw her, I knew I had to have her,” Neagu explained. “Every broken heart can be healed by unconditional love. In my arms, she felt safe.”
It’s unclear how the dog ended up in such a dangerous situation. But one thing is certain: her future has never been brighter.
“Her name was Paula. “She’s a lot of fun, and she’s glued to my shadow,” Neagu explained. “She’ll stay with me until she finds a permanent home.” She’s about 11 months old and a bundle of joy.”
