Small rodents known as chinchillas are prized for their fluffy cuteness, but Cameron Holmes of Cameron’s Chinchillas has a pack whose cuteness is unmatched. It’s all because of their perfectly rounded butts, which resemble a huge dust ball or a Soot Sprite from the beloved animated film Spirited Away.
The name of this particular breed of chinchillas—violets—comes from the purple hue of their fur. Their unusual coloring and round behinds make them seem almost too good to be true. Holmes clarifies that this is a trait of the breed and that it doesn’t require any additional feeding or grooming to appear this fluffy. The rodents bathe in the dust in the morning to clean themselves. Otherwise, they like to eat snacks and take naps like many of us do. “We turn the lights on and say good morning to all the chinchillas and each of them is waiting by their food hopper waiting for it to be filled up,” Holmes said in describing the endearing scene to Yahoo! News.
These cute chinchillas are perfectly round from the back.
Even from above, they resemble giant dust balls!
But of course, we can’t help but love their over-sized ears and little paws.
