Anything that happens to our animal companions may be sad. Animals are helpless animals who are unable to protect themselves at all times, especially when confronted with a weapon.
Unfortunately, there are those who like injuring animals for no reason.
Billy Morris was tending to the hens he keeps on his little farm in Oak Grove, Alabama. It was his regular morning, but something was odd when he spotted Cotton, his dog, cautiously approaching him.
Morris claimed he saw something shocking as the dog approached. “I noticed he had an item coming out of his side as he turned broadside,” he stated.
An arrow protruded through the side of the 4-year-old Great Pyrenees. Morris is convinced that the attack on his loving puppy was not an accident.
“He was gasping for air. “He really laid down at my feet, and I knew he was in big trouble at that point,” the veteran recalled.
Morris is a crippled veteran of the military. His training kicked in right away, and he wrapped his dog up and raced him to the veterinarian.
Cotton and Morris are extremely close since the dog is the veteran’s support dog and has aided him during his most trying moments.
“I was frightened I was going to lose my dog,” the anxious veteran explained, adding, “On the drive to the veterinary clinic, I had to start breathing mouth to muzzle.” His respiratory capacity was less than 20%. I was virtually holding my breath for him.”
His dog’s lung had collapsed, according to Morris. Fortunately, the veterinarian was able to stabilize the dog, and he is currently on the mend.
Morris, on the other hand, refuses to believe that someone would harm his adoring pet.
“Just knowing somebody is psychologically unwell and just insane to do anything like that,” he stated. Believing that the person who attempted to harm the animal was not psychologically stable.
Morris was already upset at the prospect of losing his pal. The soldier, who suffers from PTSD and is presently going through a divorce, says his dog has been a source of comfort to him through these difficult times.
“When my son isn’t here, it’s just me and him,” Morris explained. He is following me around the farm. I simply like being in his presence. He’s a member of the clan.”
Cotton is a very sociable dog that roams the neighborhood on a daily basis, according to Morris.
Because this does not appear to be a unique incidence, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. Another neighbor, according to Morris, had a similar experience. He wants the offender arrested before another animal is gravely injured!
Anything that happens to our animal pet causes us to be concerned. Cotton, we wish you a swift recovery!
