They immediately started cuddling him 😍
When the RSPCA was summoned to investigate a monkey kept as a pet in Essex, England, they were heartbroken to meet tiny infant TikTok.
TikTok was living alone in a birdcage, apparently too young to be separated from his parents. He wasn’t getting the attention he required, because monkeys should not be kept as pets.
“Primates are intelligent, aware, and highly sociable creatures with complex requirements that simply cannot be addressed in a household context,” RSPCA inspector Jack Taylor stated in a press statement.
Fortunately, the RSPCA was able to gain an agreement that TikTok would be placed in their care. He was immediately taken in by Monkey World, a rescue where he would be able to receive all of the care he genuinely requires, after searching for the perfect forever home for him.
Alison Cronin, the director of Monkey World, drove over to the RSPCA to pick up TikTok and was overjoyed to bring him to his new home and meet his new family.
The rescue planned to meet Clydie and Ronnie, who they thought would become TikTok’s adoptive parents. Clydie and Ronnie had also been rescued from bad situations, so they understood what TikTok had gone through. TikTok yelled out to his new mom and leapt up onto her back as soon as he saw her. Clydie was overjoyed to be able to care for her new son and began doting on him right away.
In a news release, Monkey World stated, “Clydie promptly embraced him as her own, carrying, grooming, and guarding tiny TikTok.”
TikTok was roughly 5 or 6 months old and weighed only 0.2 pounds, according to the rescue. He had urgently needed the care that only parents could provide, and he now gets it once more.
Clydie and Ronnie are overjoyed with their baby son, TikTok, and their adorable little family of three is the prettiest thing you’ll ever see.
TikTok and his new family are an excellent example of why monkeys should never be sold as pets, and both the RSPCA and Monkey World are working hard to put an end to this practice.
“Tiktok’s situation perfectly demonstrates why primates should not be available to the public and do not belong in people’s homes,” Taylor stated. “This child has been taken from his family and sold as a novelty pet to someone who doesn’t know him and has no possibility of providing him with what he requires.” It’s a circumstance that should never happen.”
TikTok, thankfully, now has the best new life possible in a home where he will always be protected with people that truly love him.
